• Hi all – I’m very new to WordPress!

Our company website was previously ran by a social media company however we have decided to run it ourselves! I’ve made a few errors while learning what I can, however the main issue is something I haven’t caused! I’ve noticed our scrolling image on the home page and the ‘latest news’ scroll isn’t scrolling! And also the image is showing a small section of the second image! Looks bad!

I’ve realised that a certain plug in isn’t supporting flash anymore! Can anyone explain to me how I can remove this and possibly install a new plugin which will do the same thing?

Please check out the website to see what I’m on about!

    Many thanks in advance peeps

  • Hi Gaz,

I think the issue is not with flash. I think what’s going on is that the image slider you had their uses Javascript to function. However, there is a Javascript error on the page which is preventing it from working properly.

I would recommend disabling all your plugins, except the one which makes the slideshow work. If it starts working then another plugin you have is causing the problem. Switch back your plugins one-by-one to figure out which one is causing the issues!

I recommend clearing your cache after you’ve disabled all plugins and after you enable each plugin, just to be sure!

    Thanks for the reply Daniel

The plugin I believe that is used is NextGen? And I read somewhere that they no longer support JavaScript for some security reason! I’m guessing that might be the problem but I will try what you said.

    Hi Gaz,

I think that info is erroneous, take a look at their FAQ page: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/faq/. There definitely IS a javascript error on the page, there’s no question about that, but what is causing it is a different question ??

Thanks Daniel, deactivating all plug ins apart from NextGen worked, just gotta figure out what’s playing up! I think it’s a scrolling vertical sidebar that may be the issue..

    Many thanks again

Awesome, I’m glad all is well now! Do mark the topic as resolved if it is indeed resolved ??
