Home Page Format

Hi there, I am attempting to use your theme (which I LOVE by the way) but I can’t figure out how to make the home page look like the Demo site. The only page it came with in the theme is “about” page and obviously I can’t use that as the static front page. So am I supposed to create a home page for this theme or am I missing something?
