I recently made a new website on WordPress for a family genealogy project, and am in the process of adding content, as well as other features. On the home page, I would like to add in some paragraphs and photos, but for some reason, the paragraphs that I have added in the Dashboard in are not displaying on the website. On the site, it only shows “Welcome to the Solski family site”! When I pull up the page in the admin dashboard, it shows the text that I added in, which should be displaying on the site: “Hello, and welcome to the Solski family site! Our ancestors were born in Lithuania, and lived in Jonava, Kaunas, and other places in that area. Many of them moved to the United States in the early 1900’s, with many settling in Georgia. Other family members moved to other areas around the world.”

When I add updates to other pages, they immediately show up when I navigate to that page in the browser, without even having to refresh the catch, thus, it’s not a cache issue. Therefore, why is this only occurring with the home page?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello @cher443,

    Thank you for reaching out,

I have never encountered such an issue before, and no one else has reported this so far. Kindly share the following info that could help us understand the issue you described better and hopefully help you resolve it:

    1. Detailed explanation of the issue you are experiencing; when did you first notice the problem occurring (after a particular update, using a specific device, etc), as well as the steps of you take that trigger the issue in case the problem is not constantly present on your website, especially on the frontend. You can attach screenshots or a short video of the issue.

    2. Explain to us step by step how we can reproduce the issue so we can recreate it somewhere other than your website.
You can upload your files using one of the following online services:
    https://postimages.org
    https://loom.com
    https://drive.google.com
It would be helpful if you could share a video showing what actions you’ve taken on the site. This way, I can better understand the issue you’re facing.

    3. Kindly provide us with your system environment information.
If you’re running Elementor, navigate to Elementor > System Info in your WP dashboard.

You can send the information as code here or upload them to https://pastebin.com/ and get an exclusive link.

Before sending these, please make sure that:
Everything on your website is running the latest versions (WP, theme, plugins).
If possible, perform a basic troubleshooting checkup method and make sure the issue is related to our theme or plugin(s). To do this, deactivate all other plugins then activate them one by one and check for this issue. Continue doing this until you find what product is causing a conflict with our product. Then provide the details as explained above.

Note: if you have any cache plugin or server cache(CDN / Browser Cache and Cookies and …), you need to clear its cache contents or disable them to see your changes.

    Please keep us posted.
    Thank you,
    Best Regards

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. I disabled the autocache plugin, which didn’t have any impact on things. After further research, I thought it was because of a permalink plugin. The situation is that I need that plugin in order to link the site to a TNG program, and the program’s pages all have .php coding, which WordPress automatically turns into -php. However, keeping the plugin active isn’t an option, since it keeps me from being able to update the home page.

However, it looks like the issue is still manifesting, regardless.

Here are photos of the issue:

This is what I would like the top menu to look like, and it displays as this from some of the pages: https://postimg.cc/0rnNwnBZ

Here is the text I am trying to have on the home page: https://postimg.cc/fVmyJsnS I have alternated between actually having a home page on the top menu, and not having one, since the page is accessed also by clicking on “Solski Family of Jonava”. It doesn’t make a difference, the updates still aren’t showing up on the menu, nor the home page.

When you go to the home page at this link: https://test.solski.org/wp-solski/, the menu reverts back to this: https://postimg.cc/56t2qvcJ

Notice how it has old menu items and pages that no longer exist, such as “Earlier generations” and “Gallery”, both of which I have already deleted. I still have the caching plugin deactivated. Do I need to delete it?

All of my plugins and WordPress are up-to-date. I use Google Chrome. I first noticed this happening this month. I have made other WordPress sites, even using this theme before, and never had this issue previously. In fact, I even deleted my auto-cache plugin, and it still isn’t helping.

What do you recommend? Thank you in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Cheryl

    Good evening,

I think the issue may actually be due to a server-side delay, as a fellow administrator has also tried adding an update to a page, and it still hasn’t shown up on the website, although it is visible in WordPress. The home page update is now visible, so we are now just waiting on the updates for the Jonava page.

Thanks again for looking into this, and have a good day!

    Sincerely,

    Cheryl

    Hello Shahin,

Thank you for following up. It was indeed a caching issue on the server side. I purged the cache, and the menu is now fully updated. ?? Thank you again for your help.
