• Hi Guys,
Im being a bit of a plague here this week but thankfully two of you have already helped me to resolve issues so far.
I hired a developer through Odesk lately to do a small bit of editing work but whatever changes were made messed up how the homepage looks in the most recent versions of Internet Explorer. The rest of the site seems to be fine in it and its also fine in the old versions of IE.
Unfortunately he was unable to figure out a way to resolve it.
Im hoping some of you more experienced wordpressers might be able to spot something.
Site looks fine in Chrome and Firefox and obviously I don’t want to make any changes which might mess this up.
I know most people are moving to Chrome but my analytics tells me that 25% of site visitors still come through IE so I really don’t want to give a bad first impression.
    The site is https://purchase.ie/

  • Oh, odesk. I would suggest hiring someone local you can call in the future.

You have some mark up errors and IE is pickier than other browsers about them. I’d start there.

I did hire someone local through Odesk but they told me they couldn’t resolve the matter so I paid them off and moved on as they had done most of the editing work I asked them to do whilst making a mess of how the site looks in IE.
Thanks for the link alot for me to take in there. Do I simply follow the instructions and make changes through the html in wordpress?

It depends entirely on how comfortable you are with editing code. You may have to edit template files or it could just be on some WordPress pages. I hope you blasted the dude on odesk for walking away from a project.
