Home page, and page widget exclude function.

    My first WP website so please excuse my simple questions.

    1) Is it OK to call my main landing page ‘Home’. I read somewhere this could cause conflicts.

    2) By default my theme gave me a horizontal bar with page links. That’s OK, I want to use it for Home, About & Comments. I’ve also used the Pages widget to generate a list of vertical links on the LHS. I can remove About and Comments from this list by using Exclude and entering the page ID. However, the Home page doesn’t have a page ID. How can I stop this appearing in the list?
