I’m having trouble getting my blog to show up on its own page.

I just installed the WP theme “Responsive.” I had a page in my old theme that I created called “Blog” then under Settings > Reading I changed the front page to display my static page “Home” and the “Posts page” to display the “Blog” page I created. This worked fine. Whenever I posted a new blog post it would post to the “Blog” page.

However, since installing the “Responsive” theme this does not work. I cannot get it to work. Is there a way to have a unique page that displays all the blog posts? I would like to put that “Blog” page in my custom menu. Is there a way to have a page that will show all the blog posts so I can put it as an option in my menu?

    My site is https://theidentityshift.com/

    Thanks

    mario

  • Hey,
I’m having the exact same problems as johnosmond. I want my posts to be on the last page, not the home page. I know how to make the home page static and to assign the posts page to a separate page (which I’ve assigned as a Blog Full type), but all I’m getting is the Hello World page, and no posts are showing up. At all. I’ve gone to your forum, I’ve tweaked the Reading settings, and nothing is happening. It’s as if all of my posts disappeared. I do not want to use the Hello World template. How do I nix it in favor of a blog post list?

    Emil,
Sorry, but that doesn’t work. I’ve already tried that at least five times. Is there a way I can disable the Hello World feature in the functions.php file?

I need the home page to be static.
I need the blog post page to display posts, not Hello World.

I can get the blog post page to display posts, but only if it’s set to be the Home page.
I cannot get the blog post page to display posts in a different order (ie not the Home Page).

Can you share the URL please, we’re missing something obvious for sure. I’ve done it many times and we’ll make it work for you too.

Just so that I understand this, you don’t want default “Hello, World” and instead you need your site to be like this, is that correct?

    Thanks,
    Emil

    Hi Emil,
Correct, I want the blog page to look like the one you posted, only not set as the default home page.

Okay, weird, but I think I got it to work. Thanks for being prompt anyway.

Oh wow, that looks amazing, fantastic job, when you’re done, please allow me to Showcase!

And I am very glad that you got it.

Thanks Emil! I’ll let you know when it’s done and on the client’s server. Overall the css was super easy to work with, well organized to boot, so gold star to you. As for the snafu about the static vs. post page, no idea what happened there. The stars must have aligned.

    Thanks again!

Nothing to worry about, I do that few times per day ?? what’s important is that you’re happy and it works the way you need.

    Thanks,
    Emil

I got it working for me, but I had to delete other themes that I had. Deactivating them did not work. I’m not even sure what theme was causing the conflict, but after I deleted a few, it worked fine. [ sig removed ]

Any one suggest me how can I display post on my website from blog directory. my website and blog both are in wordpress but not able to retrieve recent post on my website.

    Please guide me.

    Thanks.

Not sure if this is possible, however… I like the CTA button, but I also want to display blog posts on my front page. Is there any way I could have both? Currently I seem to be able to have the CTA and widgets OR the blog posts. But I want both! (Actually, don’t really need the widgets, but that’s another matter!)

You’ll help the theme’s author out if you post on their forums for issues regarding their theme.

This thread is already marked resolved so it’s not a good place to ask for help on a new issue.
