Home page and archive pages

The plugin is doing what I want on the home page, but I think it is messing with things on archive pages.
Is there any way I can get this plugin to either:
Work on both the home page and archive pages with different settings?
Or, leave the genesis code alone so I can add a ‘read more’ button on archive pages
The Genesis snippet of code for modifying the read-more link isn’t working with this installed (https://my.studiopress.com/snippets/post-excerpts/). I’m still investigating other solutions…
