Is it possible to get a phone number to someone at Word Press so I can get this problem resolved?

Support for WordPress is provided through the forum volunteers rather than by phone or help-desk. Perhaps if you post a link to your site, someone can clue you in as to what might be happening. The fact that you get the 404 until you click on the home page may indicate something as simple as an error in your permalinks (or address in your dashboard) or a static front page setup gone wrong.

I want this resolved and maybe you should have a help desk instead of a response like from ClatonJames I find is response a bit rude.

WordPress is free software. I see you have never posted here before, and your theme is OOTB twentyeleven, so allow me to elaborate a little bit.

Support for the software is provided through the forums that you are currently posting and participating in. One very often overlooked aspect of that support process, is that individuals sometimes forget – while asking for help, for free – that others cannot see the symptoms or problem that you may be seeing without actually visiting the site in question.

Your particular issue, which is now very obvious to anyone who views your site, is that you have designated your home page – which would normally be the page where your posts would be displayed – as “home-2”, and decided to place your posts on a new page you created and named “blog” – which by the way, returns a permalink structure “/category/social-media-2/”

Now normally, I would assist an individual with quickly correcting these issues, as it’s a pretty easy issue to fix, but in this case, and especially for a site that touts being an “SEO and Social Media Marketing/Consulting Company”, I can see that your expectations may be beyond that which a volunteer can provide; so I’m going to suggest that you seek a professional remedy, so as not to interfere with your current SEO roadmapping plans. ClaytonJames reply to you was not rude at all, he wasn’t even curt. The reply was factual and he took the time out to explain it to you.

As explained above, this is a 100% staffed by volunteer support forum. No one here is being paid to support you. So please keep that in mind before confronting people.

I don’t know what you are referring to, email addresses are not shared, nor is there a mechanism for sending email to other volunteers within the forum.

A) No. No, I don’t. That statement is both ridiculous and fraudulent.

B) This too, is a ridiculous response. This is an open forum. I suggest that if you don’t care for the format, you should contact the the link I recommended to obtain paid, professional help, with whom you can consult in private. Or, hire a developer of your own choosing. Or, you can start a new thread if you like, and see if someone else might be of some assistance.

Perhaps it is a language barrier that makes you believe you have been offended in some way? (Maybe English is a second language for you?) If so, I’m sad that is the case, and I hope it can be overcome in the future. You can however, rest assured that I have no intention of ever making another attempt to assist you.
