    Hello,
    on the homepage, the sidebars containing the widgets are appearing below instead of appearing on the right.
    The page automatically loads as full width with the widget area below the text area.

    also where can i find the demo-xml file?

    The demo file is not provided with the theme.

    Home page.
    Make sure you set a static page for the front page. The home page have to use the Home page template ( check the page attribute).
