Home (Logo link) didn't update after moving site from subdirectory to root

Hi all,

I followed an online tutorial to move WP site from Subdirectory to root.
What I did was:
1. turn off permalink
2. change Site URL
3. Copy index.php and .htaccess file to root
4. edit dirname in index.php to /subdirectory/wp-blog-header.php

I have done this several times on other sites without any problem.

But this time, on this particular site, The Root originally already has a website. I forgot to remove it first. Now, the main domain works, which loads the WP in subdirectory. But the Home URL(Logo) reamains xxx.com/subdirectory, which leads to a 404 page. The Home URL should be xxx.com instead…

Does anyone know how to fix the HOME URL problem? Can I remove the WP in the root now?And delete its database? I am so afraid to break my new site by accident.
