• Hi,

When I initially set up my WordPress site, I had an ‘About’ page. However, when I add a different template, I get a ‘Home’ page too. The ‘About’ page shows up in the page manager but the ‘Home’ page doesn’t. Both pages point to the same url. How do I get rid of the ‘Home’ page?

  • Many theme designers ‘hardcode’ reference to a Home page somewhere in their theme (typically header.php or sidebar.php).

Thanks for your reply Michael. I deleted ‘home’ where ever I came across it in the header.php (twice in total and only deleted ‘home’ and not the brackets or anything else around it). Bit risky but it worked fine and no problems.

2 Home pages appear on my static page navigation bar on my front page and I would like to delete one. I had a blog post page which showed up as a home page. I made a new static page and called it home, then I returned to the blog post page and deleted it. When I returned to the the static page home appeared twice in the navigation bar. Please tell me how I can get rid of the duplicate Home Page.
    Thank you,
    Kevin
