    Hi there,
    I have WooCommerce 3.3.0 and WooCommerce Stripe Gateway 4.0.5. Stripe offers a feature using Auth and Capture in which a certain amount of money is held over a specified period while a customer is in possession of a product. If the product is subsequently damaged or lost, this amount of money can then be charged to the customer. How is this implemented using WooCommerce and Stripe?

    While Stripe does have this feature, it may not work for you. You only have 7 days to capture the funds.

    Thanks for the quick reply. How is it possible to use this feature with the plugin? Or is it done from the Stripe dashboard?

    There is a setting in your site after you install this plugin. “Capture”.

    I have ticked this checkbox but where do I set the amount of money to be held over the period the customer has the product?

    It withholds the full amount of the order.

    How can you hold another specified amount of money?
    For instance,
    the rental product may be $200
    and insurance is $500
    How is it possible to charge the $200, and to hold $500 until the rental item is returned?

    You can’t do that with this plugin and authorize/capture is not intended for that purpose. Authorize/capture is for authorizing a charge and capture it only after you ship the product.

    You cannot achieve this with Stripe.

    Hi there, I have talked to stripe and it is possible. We just need to be able to receive the customer details from the woocommerce stripe plugin to the stripe dashboard, then an uncaptured charge can be added to said customer. How is it possible to do this? Thank you for the help.

    I would suggest you hire a developer to custom build you this solution. With our Stripe it is not possible. We only provide the basic auth/capture feature.
