Hit counter not working with regex?

    I have a regex redirection rule
    \/(.*?)\?cat=-1 -> 404
    The “Hits” counter is not counting up
    It does show in the wordfence “Live Traffic” for the page a 404
    So why is the Hits counter not increasing?
