Hints Not Generating

    I had to reset the hints for my site a few days ago. But now, hints aren’t generating nor regenerating (even after I hit the Reset button).

    Any help with this issue will be appreciated/

    @vdn-staff Thanks for contacting me. Can you send me a screenshot of your auto preconnect options? And which hints do you already have in place?

    No new hints will be created if there are existing hints which are identical to the ones which would be created by using the “auto preconnect” feature. This avoids duplicate hints being created.

    @samperrow It’s also worth mentioning that hints only generate/regenerate when I visit the site myself.

    I have no links in place at the moment.

    @vdn-staff Have you tried clearing your cache out after trying to reset? I noticed all of your JS scripts have been stored in one file by the Autooptimize plugin.

    Tried that and got the same result

    It’s not necessarily a bad thing to have all JS scripts condensed into one by caching plugins. But this can pose a problem when trying to do a reset of the preconnect hints, because after doing a reset, when the front end is loaded, a JS script will be loaded and executed. Typically this JS script (find-external-domains.js) is not loaded by the front end. Caching plugins can prevent this new script from being loaded and/or executed on the front end.

    So that could be the issue. I have not changed much in the preconnect settings for the new release, but I will try to figure out what could be going on here.

    Please try to upgrade to version 1.7.7.1 and let me know if that resolves the issue. And you’ve been clearing out your plugin caches, correct?

    Done made the upgrade and everything working like it should now.
