[HINT] User created tables
-
WordPress has existed 15 years, yet there is no out-of-the-box way to create tables. What if you want to allow your users to create tables in their posts, topics or replies? What alternatives you have?
You can allow the users to write directly html,
<table>...
, but that requires them to be pretty skilled with html… and comes with a huge security risk. You can add a table plugin (there are several), but… With most of the plugins you create the table in the back-end and just paste a shortcode into the actual. Letting casual users into the back-end doesn’t sound appealing.
So you end up to have a table plugin, where the editing happens in the front-end, e.g. Easy Tables by Takien, except that works also by a shortcode. Ta-daa, with this DV Shortcode Whitelist plugin you can safely allow your users to put tables in their writings.
