After upgrading a site and all plugins, we found that TEC was hijacking a child page of the Events page. The child page is a posts listing page and was called Past Projects (slug: past-projects). Attempting to display the page, the content showed a title of Past Events and a Next Event button. (there were no past events)

Changing the parent from Events to another page everything worked correctly.

Our work around was to change the page slug to old-projects and leave the title as Past Projects after which it worked correctly as a child of the Events page. Further playing around showed that any child page with past in the slug was hijacked.

If TEC is going to hijack a page, it should be part of the settings and use a complete page slug rather than a fragment.

Thanks for reporting this Rastamataz. I am looking into this to see if there is anything we can change. I will get back to you once I have had a chance to run this by the devs. Cheers!

    Howdy again Rastamataz,

I am so sorry. I forgot to get back to you. It seems I lost my note telling me to followup. ??

Is this still happening for you? When I create a page a page called “Past Projects” I get the slug /past-projects/. That page worked fine. So then I tried renaming the slug to /past/. Again it worked as expected, so finally I thought maybe this is a child page? So I create a parent “Projects” page and thus changed the URL to /projects/past/. Once again it worked as expected. Perhaps this was incidentally fixed in a newer version of our plugin? Or maybe there is something unique about your server environment that causes this? Either way, please let me know if it is still happening. Thanks!
