Our hosting company shut down our site as it was artificially consuming a lot of resources that it was threatening to take down the shared server.

    This is what they said:
“Your site’s calls to the database – to pull and add information to it, are taking way too much time.

Due to this the server’s resources have to be occupied by your site for long periods of time, which cannot be allowed on a shared server.

The queries that we see as slow are primarily related to the earthquakemonitor plugin, which is why we recommend to disable it.”

We disabled it, and they will be monitoring the site again. I have a question for you: Do you think the plugin is doing it or are they trying to pin it on your plugin?

I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

The hosting company revised its findings and it is not from your plugin. Thanks ??

Hi , sorry for my late reaction.

Glad to hear it’s not my plugin causing the problems. I would have been surprised if it was the plugin (though it could be a bug of course) ,as only a very tiny bit of information is stored in the database in order not to slow down the website by requesting the information from the Earthquake source again.

I appreciate you posted an update. I hope you find out what is the source of the problem.
