High resource usage – using ajax on the front end?

Client is using your plugin on the home page –
https://bossycolor.com/Web host provider shows excessive resource usage that I cannot attribute to other sources.
In looking at Chrome’s developer tools, I see this the ajax call (below) for the slideshow. Is your plugin using AJAX on the front end which could account for the high resource usage?
