• Hello,

We have a WordPress website on this site core web vitals passes in mobile view.

Desktop view still shows CLS score high in origin summary 0.62.

We checked our website in the CLS debugger tool its shows desktop data – 0.0263

but in origin summary these scores day by day increasing.

How to resolve this CLS issue?

    Thank You

  • Hi there,

if CLS is growing over time in the Origin Summary then this means some elements on the page are shifting after the page has been originally loaded. The reasons for this are many – some common examples are:

    1. Adverts being inserted in the content without a placeholder.
    2. Images being loaded without width and height attributes.
    3. A Notification bar such as GDPR Cookies that is creating the CLS.
    4. A clickable function from a plugin that opens or closes some content.

Without seeing the site i cannot say which but you should be able to see the elements causing the shift when visiting the page – check it in an Incognito/Private browser as that won’t use a Cache and you should see.
