• I’m working on a new WordPress site (4.1). I’ve added a few custom image sizes to my functions.php. Some of these custom sizes are meant to be used in templates for a real estate post type I’m adding, so I’d like them to NOT be available as selectable options for content editors when adding an image to a post or page through the Media Library.

So, in other words: I want some image sizes (including the default sizes and 1-2 custom sizes) to be available for selection by editors in the Media Library as normal, but a few other custom sizes I’d like to hide from them (only to be used in templates).

Is this possible, and if so, how? Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi,

By default only 4 sizes are available in the drop down at most; Thumbnail, Medium, Large and Full Size. If you wish to display custom sizes beyond that you’ll need to add them in with some hooks and filters.
