    Hello all,

I hope you are well today.

I am trying to use UM to hide the entire site behind login.

So far, I have chosen to restrict access to entire site using the UM -> Access -> Restriction Content. This results in my home page displaying everything except the main content on the page – so logged out visitors can still see my sidebar content and navigations (head and foot).

I would like to create a reality where users on arrival to the site only see a log in box. Once they successfully log in, they are redirected to the home page. This is to prevent competitors from being able to see my content in side bars and also what I have n my main menu.

Is there a way to do this? I have tried:

Creating a new page, only placing a message “Log in to view content” and the UM login box shortcode. I set no sidebars to appear on this one page, and I could then use custom CSS to hide the navigation menus. I set this special “emptier” page as the website homepage in the WordPress settings. So far so good.

But when I navigate to my home page, I am told my page isn’t redirecting properly (Firefox) or that the number of redirects is so great it’s causing the page to time out (Chrome).

Is there any way to do this that I am missing?

    Thanks for your input, all.
    Grace

    UPDATE:

I have removed the “custom redirect URL” from UM settings and I no longer have the timing out or redirection issues.

However, UM still shows a generic page, complete with sidebars and navigation menus, before my user can get to this custom “empty” page that I have described in the original post.

Thus the question remains: is there a way to put the ENTIRE site, including navigation, side bars, and content, behind the UM login? Or will I have to be OK with my competitors being able to see what’s inside my primary navigation and side bar content?

    Thank you,
    Grace

    Hi @gracieoury,

Please uncheck “Allow Homepage to be accessible” in Access tab.
You can also set access restriction to your menu items in the Appearance -> Menus.
section. I’m afraid, the only way to hide sidebar is to remove it from your homepage.

    Regards.
