Hiding/deactivating the ‘uncategorised’ Product category?

    Is it possible to Hide the ‘uncategorised’ Product Category, so that it does not show up in my Wocommerce webshop?

    I have a sidebar with a product filter widget showing Product Categories.

    The empty Category ‘uncategorised’ is showing up here, and I would like it not to.

    I can not find out how to delete or hide the ‘uncategorised’ Product Category, or set it to not show up, or deactivate it under Product Category settings.

    Please help, Is there a way to control which Product Categories will be ‘published/unpublished’ or ‘activated/deactivated’ somehow?

    Within the WooCommerce Product Category widget, there is a checkbox setting that allows you to hide empty categories.

    Hi Stuart, Thank you for the help, but I am using the WOOF – WooCommerce Products Filter, and I have checked ‘YES’ in ‘hide empty terms’ in the option settings of this filter. It still shows empty categories in the widget, so something must be wrong there.

    If the WOOF product filter widget does not work, are there no settings I can do in the actual Woocommerce plugin/settings that hide/deactivate empty categories?

    Thanks for sharing that with us. I would recommend that you contact the authors of the WOOF Products Filter plugin in this case since they would be able to assist you with this problem.

    In general though, you can remove the Uncategorized Product Category by following the recommendations made here.

    This process involves setting a different Category as your default category and then being able to delete the Uncategorized category.
