Hide/remove/alert old events

I would like to find a way to automatically identify old events, so people don’t get confused with old and new events.
Some events are once a year, and get confusing in google results or in blog search results because are the same event with different date (and year is not visible) so I would like to find a way to delete or hide old events automatically or add a notice/alert advising the user that the event is old.
