Hide/disallow access to original image?

  • Hi,

    Is there any way to hide/disallow access to original images uploaded to wp-content/uploads?

    Example:
    Allowed: myimage-150×150.jpg
    Disallowed: myimage.jpg

  • Can I ask why you are wanting this? There’s probably an easy answer, depending on exactly what you want to do. Do you want to image file completely hidden from people, or do you want thumbnails to not link to the main image file, or something else?

    I don’t want people to be able to download my full size images.

    You may not like the answer but don’t upload full size images on the Internet. That’s the only way to make sure. Any other solution would (probably) break something on your WordPress installation.
