Hide youtube controls

Is there a way to hide the youtube controls so a student is forced to watch the entire video? I have had several students drag the scrub bar to the end of a video and “finish” an hour long video in minutes. Usually I would add controls=”0″ but the block just takes the url and not the embed code.

With the YouTube block, that seems to be a limitation. There is no option to hide playback controls.
From my personal experience, using another service such as VideoPress (https://jetpack.com/videopress) provides the option to hide playback controls within the block settings:
