Hide WordPress Version Feature Not Working

  • I enabled “Hide WordPress version” option in the free version of Wordfence but it is not blocking the version of WordPress from my site. I verified this by checking the server responses in the browser (Network > Response) and I find the following being displayed:

    <meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress 4.4.2″ />

    I am currently running the free version of Wordfence (version 6.0.24) on WordPress Version 4.4.2.

  • Hello cmtao!
    Are you using some form of caching (plugin or CDN) that could be serving you an old file? If so, have you tried clearing the cache?
