Am I forgetting or missing something? Surely this is not how Woo is supposed to function by default.

I have variable products set up in Woo. Some attributes are only available if other attributes are selected first.

However, the options that should be hidden or unavailable after the parent selection is chosen, are still showing as selectable options. If the user chooses one of those unavailable options, then they get a message:

“Sorry, no products matched your selection. Please choose a different combination.”

So the customer will be getting annoyed by this process. How do I make these unavailable attributes stay hidden if they are not available in that combination?

Example: If you select Size: 5×7, then Style: Aluminum Print should no longer be a selectable option. But it shows up anyway, even though there is no existing variation combination for that.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @afemaleprodigy,

Example: If you select Size: 5×7, then Style: Aluminum Print should no longer be a selectable option. But it shows up anyway, even though there is no existing variation combination for that.

Thanks for the example. I understand that you want to hide the Style attribute if there is only one option available for the selected variation.

This would require some custom code since the variation drop-down will always show because there are variations set up.

If you wanted to pursue the custom coding path, I suggest that a good place to start might be hiring a developer or one of the customization experts listed at https://woocommerce.com/customizations/.

Another suggestion would be to consider purchasing an extension such as Composite Products or Gravity Forms Product Add-ons which enables the use of conditional add-ons, the display of which is conditional on the selection of another variation.

If you have any pre-sales questions, please contact us at:

    https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/#sales-form

From there, click on the tab “I have a question about a specific extension or theme I’d like to purchase.” We will be able to help you further there.

Just so you know, we offer a 30-day refund policy so you can test out the extensions with your requirements and make sure they work for you.

I hope that helps you to figure it out.

    Kind regards.
