  • Hi John,

Unfortunately, in my experience (of multiple plugins for a few years), the www.remarpro.com “Donate” link tends to bring in about $20 – $50 a year for a plugin with a few hundred thousand users. To be succinct: either we had to let MetaSlider die through neglect and long-term lack of investment, or we had to hire someone on a salary in order to make sure it remains the most popular WP slider plugin, new features developed, reliable support available, etc. To make that work, somewhere, people have to be able to learn that there are things that they can buy from us in exchange for money. So, we have a notice on the MetaSlider page.

Everybody has their point at which the number of notices shown is “too many”, and we understand if it’s too many for you. You can install a CSS plugin and use a single-line CSS rule to hide them all if you really hate them.

Fair enough. Thanks for being straight about it. Your ads are far more respectful than many and so I thank you for that. I just hate to see the dashboard getting cluttered, but I understand there is a need for this.

    Hey @johncharlton,

Just want to add in that we will be releasing an update this coming week that will cut back on the dashboard ad presence. There will be only one ad that shows and will be dismissable for 1 year instead of 12 weeks. Please let us know if something seems off after that. Thanks for the feedback!
