Hide the Author Name

Well.. since the author’s name is the only link in the h4 tag, you could do
.post h4:first-child a { display:none; }
This way only the first h4 with a link will be affected.

That didn’t seem to do it. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Try;

.post a:first-child ~ h4 a:first-child {
 display: none;
}

That almost worked, but in some cases it hid the permalink, and in others, the permalink and the reply link. Here’s a site with that code on it:
