After I installed the Akismet plug in (stats / antispam), an irritating box is ruining my lay out.

Is there a way to hide or remove that Akismet box? I tried to put it in a div with a display:none style. But I’m afraid the stats aren’t working that way.

  • I’m using the Akismet plugin on multiple blogs and I’ve never seen that graphic before.

It’s the Akismet Blogstats to be specific.

Perhaps if I had a link to your site, I could help…

Command+F: Spam blocked. There’s such an icon.

Note: this is not my site.

On the WP plugin dashboard where Akismet is listed, it provides a specific code to use if you were wanting to show the stats. If you are not wanting to show the stats, then remove the code. Or, if you manually added the code, perhaps you placed the code incorrectly?

I have my Akismet code for the stats placed in a left sidebar widget, which has not presented any problems with my theme. Hope that helps.

Exactly, I’ve consulted the documentation about this plug in again and true, that piece code is -meant- to display this box. I thought that code was required to track visits.

My blogstats weren’t shwoing any visits, but I’ve found out that my footer wasn’t calling to <?php wp_footer(); ?> which is required for the Akismet stats.

    It’s working now. Thanks!
