Hide Subscribe2 per user role / role manager plugins

We’d like to make subscribe2 only visible to certain roles (admin) but are having trouble hooking into it or finding documentation on how to hook into it. Role managers don’t pick it up either, it obviously goes through options so its an all or nothing situation. Is there a capability for subscribe2?
