Hide site identity in header?

I’m desperately trying to find a way to hide the site identity (title) from my header. Is there a way? I don’t want to not have a title as this is needed for tab etc but I just don’t want it over my header image.
I’m using the free version… thinking about upgrading but want to be sure the upgrade has this option first. Or is there a cheaper way?!
