Hide right sidebar on selected page

    I’m playing around with Twenty Sixteen on my test site. It looks good!

    One thing that I didn’t find is how you can hide the right sidebar on selected pages. In many other theme you can select the a template to hide the sidebar. Is that possible in Twenty Sixteen as well?

    If there is no option in the theme you should be able to do that with CSS and by using page id class in the selector so it is applied only to that specific page.

    I wrote 2 lines of CSS to fix it but I still think it is strange that the option isn’t there?
    I can of course make my own template but I would imagine that it should exist?

    Not all themes offer options to hide sidebars.

    I have to agree with @esmi on this one. This would definitely be useful to have in the theme but on the other hand you could say the same for many other functionalities.

    One thing you could consider is to create a child theme that has that option. Maybe even do some changes and release it yourself. It’s important to think of themes as not having to be everything to everyone.

    Yes. I agree.

    I expected that this feature was present in the standard theme though. Thats why I wrote this post.

    olalindberg, what CSS did you use to resolve this?

    I made a custom template so both php and css. First I thought about making a child theme for it but I ended up just baking it into my own custom theme.
