Hide product category that shows under each product

I am totally stumped on finding a way to hide the product category that displays under each product on my shop page. When I go to my shop page I have a listing of four products per row. Each product shows:
Product Image
Category (this is right under the image and shows the first category listed in the product page)
Product title (this is under Category)
Product price (this is under Product title)It’s the Category reference I want to hide on the Shop page but I still want it to show on each product’s page.
I have been through all the settings under WooCommerce > Settings as well as Products > Categories and I looked in one of the product pages to see if there was a way to disable it per page but can’t find anything. Is there no way to do this via the admin panel? Do I have to comment out code in the theme’s page?
