    Hi,

I want to be able to rank posts without them appearing anywhere on the site (exclude from front page, archive and search). To do this I have installed a Category Exclude plugin so that that part is taken care of.

My question is, will that post rank despite not being linked from anywhere? I did see it show up in the Yoast sitemap so I’m thinking it should be available to Google? Does the sitemap also add PAGES?

I have seen other sites similar to mine rank posts/pages that are not listed or linked to anywhere on their page. The only way to find it is too googled it. This is what I wish to achieve too.

    Thank you!

Google Rankings (and the traffic it generates) depend on over 200 different factors. You can learn more about the 200 different factors that Google uses to determine ranking here: Algorithms. Other issues that determine rankings (and the traffic it creates) are the server load, page speed, cache configuration, mobile versions, responsiveness, the site’s content.

In short, yes you can rank a post/page that is not internally linked or listed on your site as long as Google is aware of it. Typically by submitting a sitemap that includes the URL.

@amboutwe thank you for the response, it is very much appreciate. I have done some tests and seen that Google picks up the articles from the sitemaps and indeed ranks them. All is good ??
