Hide others uploaded files

  • Dear Sir,
    I want to hide other users images and files to the specific role I’ve selected hide_others_uploaded_files but doesn’t work.

    Hi Ghunva,

    There is no such user capability at WordPress ‘hide_others_uploaded_files’, thus it’s not supported. When you add a new user capability you have to provide a supported PHP code via hooks as plugins or themes make.

    Look at this plugin. It makes available own posts and media library items for all authors and editors.

    If you need extended functionality look at the “Content edit restrictions” add-on included into the User Role Editor Pro. If you turn ON “Own data only” for a role with it, users with that role will see his own posts and media only.
