I’m using the shortcode inside an HTML Block to display the live chat. The setup works but is simply not detected.

However, I keep seing this annoying notification “Better Messages?require?installing Messages Location” which I don’t want to see but I simply can’t close it.

Please allow us to get rid of this notification.

    Hi there!

Can you just select the page where you inserted live chat with shortcode as Messages Location?

Installing messages location is required for correct plugin functionality, including messages notifications, email notifications and many other things.

It’s not added directly in a Page. It’s added indirectly.

In My Account, I created a new EndPoint.

In this EndPoint, I created an HTML Block.

In this HTML Block, I added the shortcode.

The setup works, but is not detected.

You need to point plugin to that location, otherwise notifications will not work correctly, etc.

Well I’m unable unless you explain me how. As indicated above, the shortoce is not added directly in a Page, it’s added indirectly.

In My Account, I created a new EndPoint.

In this EndPoint, I created an HTML Block.

In this HTML Block, I added the shortcode.

In your plugin, if I select the page “My Account” in the dropdown, then all the content of the WooCommerce endpoints are being replaced by your Better Messages live chat. This is obviously not good.

    Hi there!

You dont need to select the page in plugin settings in your case.

You need to let plugin know where is the messages located using bp_better_messages_page filter.

Did you checked the page, which I sent you above?

Why do I have to start entering custom code in my functions.php? Why can’t this be “settings” in your plugin…? It makes no sense to ask users to start working with custom code when this can simply be SETTINGS in your plugin. I hate using custom code when it makes no sense to make it as custom code? Those codes could be SETTINGS in your plugin.

    Hi there!

It cant be simply a setting in the plugin.

    Thanks!

@jeriss he pointed you directly to where you could see the code to do exactly what your asking. The functionality of this plugin and ease of getting it to work AND ease of customizing it is top-notch!!

Your asking about a single setting, that quite frankly, actually should not even be in the plugin.. but he still pointed you to exact code for you to simply copy / paste and that’s not go enough for you? Everything isn’t as simple as a ‘setting’ to fix or customize everything for everybody. In your circumstance, it sounds like you don’t fully understand that to get some ‘custom’ functionality, like you are asking for, you need to understand that you may have to put code in your functions.php or plugin or just get a snippets plugin and be done in about 30 seconds.

This dev has made this available for FREE, and trust me, for this kind of functionality with websockets, there are other developers and companies that would pay ALOT for what this plugin does. I personally can’t wait for a Pro version.. and I’m a full stack dev for 15+ years.
