    Hello,

After enabling HPOS the disable elements on view order page is no longer working.

For example I would like to disable “Custom fields” and “Downloadable product permissions” and after I uncheck these fields and update the order, they are checked again to be shown.

  • Hi @schero86,

From what I understand, you’re experiencing an issue with the HPOS feature. After enabling it, you’ve found that the ‘disable elements’ option on the view order page isn’t functioning as expected. Specifically, even after you uncheck the “Custom fields” and “Downloadable product permissions” and update the order, they remain checked and continue to be displayed.

Let’s try a few things to resolve this:

    1. Clear Cache: Sometimes, browser or server cache could cause such issues. Please try clearing your cache to see if this resolves the issue.
    2. Plugin Conflict: There might be a conflict with another plugin. Try disabling all other plugins except WooCommerce and HPOS, then see if the issue persists. If the problem is resolved, you can then reactivate the other plugins one by one to identify which one is causing the conflict.
    3. Theme Conflict: If the issue still exists, try switching your theme to a default WordPress theme like Storefront, and see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, the issue might be with your current theme. Here’s a handy guide on testing for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts.
    4. Diagnose JavaScript Errors: JavaScript errors can also cause functionality issues. Use your browser’s console to find these errors. Here’s a handy guide on how to do this: ?? Using Your Browser to Diagnose JavaScript Errors.

If none of these steps work, could you please share your site’s System Status with us? It will give us a better understanding of your site’s setup and help us identify the problem. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Also, if there are any fatal error logs, please share those with us as well. You can find them under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve gathered this information, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com to paste it and share the link with us.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in this matter! We’re here to help you get this sorted.

    Hello @schero86,

Thank you for sharing the system status!

The team is already aware of this issue, a fix has been implemented for version 8.4.0 already. Unfortunately, we don’t have an estimated release date yet.

As a workaround, you can continue using the legacy post table to store orders and enable compatibility mode. This way, once the update is released, you can easily switch back to HPOS without the need to sync orders. :?)

Let us know if you have any other questions!
