Hide featured images

    I would like to find a way to display thumbnails on my latest posts front page, but not to have them appear before the article on single post pages.

    At the moment, I have to use a featured image in order to have an image appear with the post extract on the homepage, but this causes the featured image to appear before my post on single post pages which I do not want. How can I solve this problem?

    Not resolved:
    I’ll explain better! In order to have a thumbnail image shown on the posts page, it seems I need to set a featured image. However, this featured image then shows up very large at the top of my post in single post pages, how can I stop this from happening using code? I do not want to use a “hide featured image” plugin as I am currently doing as this affects the SEO.

    Resolved: By deleting code on the single.content page in editor. Code started with:
    </php if (has_post_thumbnail()

    It’s a bit quiet on here, been talking to myself!!
