Hide Events creation in Buddypress activity stream

You can use WP remove_filter

e.g.

remove_filter('em_event_save','bp_em_record_activity_event_save', 100);

Sorry it took me this long to come back to you.
I tried the remove_filter and put it in the function.php of my child theme but it doesn’t work, the creation of the event still appears in the global activity stream.

Do I need to add something somewhere else?
