• In my WordPress installation, the posts only contain one image and no text at all, and comments are hidden by default even in single.php. I still want to have some way of commenting posts. I’m trying to get the link, that hides or shows comments below the post, to be in the sidebar, because the sidebar is the only place that even should contain text when comments are hidden.

This can’t be done with the Hide or Show Comments plugin, because it only allows the said link to be in the same place where the comments would be. So if I used that plugin, all of the comments would be displayed in the tiny sidebar. Any suggestions?

Doesn’t anybody know how do this? Has it never been done before?

I’m considering coding such a plugin myself. I don’t know any PHP yet, but I have some experience of C and Visual Basic from way back, and the way I see it is, that I gotta learn to do this at some point anyway. Anyone want to give me a good start to the world of PHP? Maybe I could modify the original Hide/Show Comments plugin, too?
