hide a specific category by a specific user

I want that a specific user cannot see at all a specific category inside menus; I found a variety of plugins but in general they can hide categories only by members or not-members, or can block a category by user but without hiding it; Restrict Categories plugin seems can do the work but in my installation it doesn’t work at all…
