    Hi,
The job categories in my job-manger website is showing hidden categories. In the Posts a job form in front-end, it shows around 40 categories, some of which are not needed. So i logged into the dashboard to delete those, but in the category listing page, i can’t see all of those items there. Still on the left side there is a form to add new categories, on that there is a drop-down to select the parent item of the newly added one, that drop-down shows all those 40 odd items. And the item count too is showing 40. Kind of a strange situation, Would you please help me tackle this ?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi!

Can you show me screenshots please, and tell me which categories shouldn’t be there? You can upload your screenshots to your media library and drop the links here, or to an image-hosting service. Please include screenshots of your WP-Admin Job Listing Categories page.

    Thanks!

    Hi!

I asked our developer, and we’re not sure what the issue is. The first suggestion is to try disabling all of your plugins except WP Job Manager (and add-ons). Then try testing again to see if the issue persists. If that resolves your issue, you can find what was causing it by enabling each plugin one by one while continuing to test.

If that doesn’t help, you can also try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme via Appearance > Themes, and test again. If the issue is resolved then you know it’s a problem with the theme, and you’ll need to contact the theme author for further assistance.

Let me know what you turn up!

No, I’ve disabled all plug-ins other than the Job Manager one’s and the issue still exists. These are the one’s that remains active

    1. WP Job Manager
    2. WP Job Manager – Alerts
    3. WP Job Manager – Application Deadline
    4. WP Job Manager – Applications
    5. WP Job Manager – Bookmarks
    6. WP Job Manager – Company Profiles
    7. WP Job Manager – Embeddable Job Widget
    8. WP Job Manager – Indeed Integration
    9. WP Job Manager – Job Tags
    10. WP Job Manager – Resume Manager
    11. WP Job Manager – WooCommerce Paid Listings
    12. WP Job Manager – ZipRecruiter Integration
    13. WP Job Manager addon – Jobs Geolocation
    14. WP Job Manager addon – Resume Manager Geolocation

Hmm. So 13 and 14 aren’t by us, although I don’t know how it could have an effect.

I tried to reproduce this by creating 43 job listing categories and showing only 20 per page, and it worked as expected, they were properly paginated over 3 pages. So I don’t know why you’d be having this issue. What about your Post categories? Can you see if the same thing happens there? Create a bunch of fake categories to get up to 40 and see what happens.

Tried disabling those ones. But nothing changes.

For the post categories, yes i’ve tried adding around 40 test categories and those ones are paginated over 3 pages. See: https://ibb.co/zhYHYv6

Also, have i said that, just searching for those hidden items on the search area shows it up and updating it, actually without making any changes, just click the update button, is making it visible in the main list with all other items.

Well, I really don’t know what would be causing this. At this point, my suggestion would be to make a full backup of your site and database, and then remove the categories that you want to remove, directly in the database. Make sure to make a full backup first!

Yeah, that’s what i’m going to do as i don’t wanna keep those items there for so long. It’s a strange issue. Let’s see if adding any new categories will become hidden. Then, it’s going to be a problem though. Currently all those items are unnecessary for our site.
