Hi Marco, it’s impossible to remove the banner ad as it appears over and over again, could you please correct it?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Best regards.

  • Hi,

It should only appear every 90 days after it was dismissed.
    Is that not the case?

    No, it’s constantly displayed ??

    Best regards.

OK, let me do some tests, as we do set a 90 days transient and check for it before displaying it again.

Can you check the wp_options table for the webdados_portuguese_postcodes_nag transient immediately after dismissing the banner?

There’s no option with that name, nor any containing the word webdados.

    Best regards.

I just tested it and the transient is correctly created and set to 90 days:

    Can you also check:
    – Is there any error on the console when dismissing the banner?
    – Does the ajax call we perform when dismissing returns 200?
    – Do you have any transients cleaning plugin active? If you do, make sure it’s not cleaning still valid transients.

    No errors displayed.

Sorry, after closing the banner, these two options are created:

    1. _transient_timeout_webdados_portuguese_postcodes_nag: 1678786975
    2. _transient_webdados_portuguese_postcodes_nag: 1

Yes, we use a database cleanup plugin, but only remove expired transients.

Right now it is not showing, but tomorrow it will surely show again since I constantly remove it ??

    We’ll keep you informed.

    Best regards.

Yes, we use a database cleanup plugin, but only remove expired transients.

I’m not so sure about this.

That transient is valid up to March 14 at 9:42, and if no 3rd party plugin deletes it, the WordPress cron will only clean it past that time, as you know.

When the banner is showing up again, check the options. They should be gone. I can’t find any other reason for them to be deleted unless the database cleanup plugin is deleting still valid transients, which can cause bigger issues on your website.

Try to disable that plugin for one or two weeks and check if the issue disappears, please.

We’ve forced it manually and it has not deleted the transient, so we are sure that it is not the one causing the issue.

We’ll continue to investigate and let you know what we find.

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards.

    Thanks.
