Hey, where's my widget styling?

I ran into this same problem. I think I found the solution by reviewing the Themer’s Guide again.

I had to make the following changes in order to get my custom widget, list and single templates working again:

1) Change the “events” folder in your theme to “tribe-events”
2) Add a “widgets” folder inside of the “tribe-events” folder
3) Rename “events-list-load-widget-display.php” to “list-widget.php” and move it into the “tribe-events/widgets” folder

Once I made those three changes, things appear to have started working again.

Thank you for the response. I wound up figuring most of this out on my own, although I’d actually copied the default widget.php from the plugins folder into the /tribe-events/ foler and re-formatted it, instead of just renaming events-list-load-widget-display.php, which would have been easier.

Now I have another issue where the view for specific calendar categories are defaulting to lists instead of grids… but I expect the solution is going to be something similar.

Thank goodness I tried the upgrade on my development site before updating the live site! My events list widget also lost all styling. Now I have done the folder and widget re-naming as above, but the styling is still not right, and although I have asked for the next 10 upcoming events I am only getting 2. Is there going to be a bug fix for this? Is there a guide somewhere on how to update all the custom styling we’ve done, to match the new version? Just noticed my calendar view has gone to heck as well. I love this plug-in so I want to make it work.

Sorry about all the issues. You should always update in a development copy of your site, especially with such a big update as this. Unfortunately we did change a lot of things and many classes, template files, etc. were changed and at this time we do not have an official guide as to what changed. You’ll need to figure it out on your own. The themer’s guide and much of our other documentation has been updated though, and this should help you with the bulk of the changes.
