first a big ty for this superb plugin!

just this current version HAS some problems (with all mayor browsers) – rendering errors can also be seen with webpagetest:

    – broken css & js when minify is on
    — auto setting not working
    — manual (verbatim copied from last w3-cache) also dead

    – no gzip on all css, js files

    – compatibility check output has transparent background garbeling text

    – Google Page Speed dashboard widget setting doesnt toggle

    – i get no minify error notification, even when i have 404 on css & js files

hope it all gets fixed soon.

  • I’m new to W3TC and was totally stoked to begin seeing some load times go down. I am somewhat relieved to see that the CSS problem is not exclusive to my rookie ways … however just wondering … has anyone else been experiencing problems with their CDN’s being recognized.

I use Amazon S3 along with CloudFront

When I setup my CDN to refer to the S3 … everything seems to work including the CSS even with the minify selections enabled

However when I reference the CloudFront (either push or pull) the CSS blows up.

    Hummmmmmmmm … any ideas?

I’m using Amazon S3 + CloudFront + W3 Total Cache. Latest versions of WordPress and W3 Total Cache.

You may have the same problem I do if you make some change to minification–for example, adding or removing a CSS or JS file–and then it can’t find the file. I check this in Google Chrome by right-clicking the page, clicking “Inspect Element” and then going to the Resources tab and expanding the different types of files. A red flag shows beside any CSS or JS files with errors… and often the error, for the combined file W3 Total Cache created, is a 404. Indeed, when I look in the Amazon S3 bucket I see that the file it is referring to is not actually there!

After extensive experimentation, I think there’s some bug in W3 Total Cache, and the workaround is to disable minify and then enable minify each and every time you make a change to any minify settings. Hopefully this will help other people.

Is anyone having issue with the latest release?

I’m really not a tech guy so I am not sure why, but the minify feature still will not work on “Auto”. If it is in Auto, the site does not load. I have the latest version of W3 but I assume having it on manual is almost the same as having it off.

    just to let you know

Can you submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin please?

    Done,

Let me know if you need anything else
