Did you change the DNS? Did you change hosts? Did you change domains?

If you changed the site URL in WP admin:Changing The Site URL ? WordPress Codex. If you changed DNS at your domain regiistrar, change it back and wait until DNS propagates.

I’m very new to all this. I have not changed anything in my database but when I type in https://localhost888/wordpress I just get a blank page.

i’t seems you’re missing a : character there.

if you running WordPress local with MAMP or XAMP try https://localhost:888/wordpress or check with your Program?!

No one can help you until you tell us exactly what you changed in wordpress and exactly what you’re runining.

Did you change the site URL in Dashboard/Settings/General Settings?

Are you using XAMP or MAMP? Windows or Mac?

Buying a domain has nothing to do with your localhost setup at this point.

I haven’t changed anything to do with my site URL. I’m using MAMP and my computer is a Mac.

Gotta spit it all out or no one can help. What errors do you get and what do you see or not see? Have you rebooted? Checked MAMP to see if apache is running?
