help with wp_config.php

  • I’m having a problem with viewing WP locally(on my Mac) I have pHp installed, mySQL server running I get the following eRRor:

    Error establishing a database connection

    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

    If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

  • Did you downloaded the german package from WordPress Deutschland? The installer there has a little bug which causes that the wp-config file isnt set up with the db connection details you entered during the installation process.
    Open your wp-config file with an editor of coice and fill in the correct data on your own and safe changes.

    If you’re using another package, make sure your MySQL server is running. May check it with other MySQL-apps.
