Help with WordPress and XAMPP on Mac OSX Mavericks

  • Hello, I am very new to WordPress. I have spent the entire day reading and re-reading threads in this forum and and am still confused, so hopefully someone here can help me out.

    I installed WordPress successfully and am using XAMPP as my Localhost. I am trying to install a plugin but am getting the error message:
    Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).

    I have read all of the posts I can find on Google for the past 8 hours and nothing has worked for me. Hopefully someone here may have a solution for this or could point me in the right direction, thanks in advance -P

  • Excuse my English, I hope you can understand me.
    The wp-content folder is on the following route:

    xamppfiles>htdocs>wp folder dowload(if you have not changed the name
    )>wp-content
