help with setup in boulder, colorado?

  • I’m a technotard in Boulder Colorado wanting to switch over from Typepad to WordPress but I don’t know where to start. Anybody out there wanna help setup a newbie?

  • Where you are doesn’t matter. Have you hit the WordPress Codex, the online manual for WordPress users? There are step by step instructions and a great WordPress for Beginners section.

    We work best when we get specific questions to specific issues.

    Where you are does matter, just not necessarily in regards to running WP (unless your server doesn’t offer mysql and php ;-). – BoulderBill

    Thanks for responding. When I say technotard, I really mean it! But I’m trying to learn. I managed to download a template I like, but now I have no idea what to do with it. I read over the WordPress for Beginners section, particularly the five minute download bit, but (no kidding) I don’t know what an IP address IS, much less what mine is, or what mysql or php are…

    Happy but lost in Boulder
